Chile: Chamber of Deputies approves Assisted Dying Bill

A self-determined end of life choice may soon be legal in Chile.
On 20 April 2021, the Chamber of Deputies in Chile approved a bill to allow voluntary euthanasia and assisted suicide for competent individuals over the age of 18. The bill requires that a person making the request would have to be diagnosed by two doctors as having a serious and incurable disease and suffer from unbearable physical ailments. The bill now goes to the Senate for debate.
