The organisation, which pursues no commercial interests whatsoever, has in accordance with its constitution the objective of ensuring a life and a death with dignity for its members and of allowing other people to benefit from these values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The activities of DIGNITAS comprise, amongst others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advising in regard to all end-of-life issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cooperation with physicians, clinics and other associations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carrying out Patient\u2019s Instructions and patient\u2019s rights with regard to doctors and clinics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Suicide and suicide attempt prevention<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support in conflicts with the authorities, with the management of nursing homes and with doctors not chosen by the patient<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Further development of law in regard to questions about \u201elast matters\u201c<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accompaniment of dying patients and assistance with a self-determined end of life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On 26 September 2005, based on German initiative, \u201e<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dignitas.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"DIGNITAS \u2013 Deutschland e.V. (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">DIGNITAS \u2013 Deutschland e.V.<\/a>\u201c was founded in Hannover, in order to follow up on the objectives of DIGNITAS through an association specifically for German residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, these two associations count more than 10\u00a0000 members in around 100 different countries. Both associations are members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wfrtds.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"World Federation of Right-to-Die Societies WFRtDS (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">World Federation of Right-to-Die Societies WFRtDS<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rtde.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Right to Die Europe RtDE (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">Right to Die Europe RtDE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every day, DIGNITAS is contacted by people from all over the world who seek authentic and honest advice on questions regarding life and death, without taboo, paternalism and stigmatization.
