    {"id":3948,"date":"2013-04-16T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-04-15T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.dignitas.bertastrasse1.ch\/news\/dignitas-news-en-300\/"},"modified":"2025-06-18T10:49:59","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T08:49:59","slug":"unitarian-and-free-christian-churches-support-the-right-to-die","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/dignitas.ch\/en\/news\/unitarian-and-free-christian-churches-support-the-right-to-die\/","title":{"rendered":"Unitarian and Free Christian Churches support the right to die"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches held 11 \u2013 14 April 2013 agreed the following resolution:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That this General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches, recognising the worth and dignity of all people and their freedom to believe as their consciences dictate, believes that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1) any individual who faces an intolerable existence because of a debilitating and\/or incurable physical condition should have the right to seek support for the termination of their life in a painless and dignified manner<br>and<br>2) legislation should respect their choice and allow them compassionate assistance in achieving such a death without fear of prosecution of anyone involved<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dignitas is delighted to have the support of the Unitarian and Free Christian Churches in our aim to enhance freedom of choice in &#8216;the last human right&#8217;.
